The 24 Werewolf is a bait finesse rod in the Shore Competition (SC) series, designed to excel in increasingly tough modern fields. While retaining the advantages of its predecessor, this model incorporates numerous refinements for enhanced performance.

The previous 19 Werewolf carried forward the M-power tip from the 08 Werewolf and combined it with an ML-power butt, following Daiwa’s traditional multi-taper design. Wrapped in the highly responsive SVF Compile X material, it was a one-of-a-kind rod. Its signature characteristic—parabolic bending to the butt and sharp projection of lightweight lures thanks to the strong rebound of SVF Compile X—remains, but the new version evolves to be “more delicate, more powerful.”

In modern conditions, subtle bites from suspended small-rubber baits or cover-neko rigs often result in weak strikes. To reliably hook these bites, the Werewolf introduces Mega Top R—a first for a bass rod—providing tip sensitivity and follow-through without compromising tactile feedback. The solid tip version of Mega Top R further enhances bottom detection and the feel of bottom irregularities, greatly improving operability.

Additionally, the excessive lightening from the 08 to 19 Werewolf has been addressed. The slow-tapered parabolic butt, which previously felt “soft” during hooksets due to thin walls, is now reinforced with additional thickness and 3DX material, maintaining the original taper while improving strength. Rebalancing the guides further maximizes the blank’s power, enhancing both hookset strength and lifting power.

Maintaining the casting performance, sensitivity, and high rebound of SVF Compile X and the multi-taper design, the 24 Werewolf also improves operability, lure ingestion, instant hookset response, and lifting power. Its total performance enters uncharted territory, leaving competitors far behind as the Werewolf continues its unparalleled dominance.
